This page explains how to install, pair and test ServTV on an Android TV device. The full flow takes less than two minutes and requires no software installation on the computer.
Before you start
An Internet connection
The application is a full-screen client for the ServTV service: an active connection is required at all times to retrieve and display content.
A ServTV account
Accounts are created by InfoSign Media. An account cannot be created from the Android TV application.
A computer
Pairing is done in the app.servtv.ca web dashboard, using a recent browser.
No two-factor authentication, QR code, biometrics or subscription is required.
Pair a screen in 5 steps
-
Launch ServTV on the Android TV device
The app opens directly on the pairing screen and displays a code, for example A1B2C3. Leave the TV on that screen.
-
Open the dashboard on a computer
Go to app.servtv.ca and sign in with the username and password provided with the review submission.
Once logged in, the interface language can be changed in the top right corner.
-
Go to “My Screens”
In the dashboard menu, open the My Screens section, then click Associate.
-
Enter the code shown on the TV
Type the pairing code displayed on the television, then click Associate again to confirm.
-
Playback starts automatically
Within a few seconds the app leaves the pairing screen on its own and starts playing the demo playlist already configured on the demo account. No further action is needed on the television.
Maintenance menu
On the TV remote, press the MENU button to open the application’s hidden maintenance menu. It provides the following options:
- Reset pairing — clears the session and returns the device to the pairing screen, so the whole flow can be tested again;
- App info — installed version and connection status;
- Exit — closes the ServTV application.
Notes for reviewers
- An active Internet connection is required; the app is a full-screen client for the ServTV service.
- The demo account already contains a screen and a demo playlist, so content plays immediately after pairing.
- “Reset pairing” in the maintenance menu clears the session and returns the device to the pairing screen, so the flow can be tested again.
- No two-factor authentication, QR code, biometrics or subscription is required.
- The application can be configured to launch automatically when the device powers on.
- Displayed content — images or videos — is managed entirely from the dashboard: nothing is edited on the television itself.
